The Job Ready Program (JRP) is a comprehensive employment and skills program designed to facilitate the transition from TR to PR for international graduates who have completed their training in Australia. It’s an essential step for many individuals, particularly those in trade occupations like chefs. Here, we’ll discuss the specific job ready program for chef requirements.

The Job Ready Program generally involves a year-long engagement with an employer in your nominated occupation if you work full-time. A midway and final test assesses your skills, and upon successful completion, you earn a Skills Assessment. You can now take up to three (3) years from your JRE Start Date to complete the entire program.  If you do not complete the program within 3 years, your application will be finalized with an unsuccessful outcome. If you are unsuccessful because the 3-year period passed, you will need to reapply for the whole program if you wish to return.

Contrary to popular belief, the 5 points claimed during the JRP are for the employment component, not the Skills Assessment.
