Job Duties of a Hatchery Operative at Hoover Hatchery:
- Load chicks into the separator
- Receive and unload eggs from the delivery truck
- Place eggs on trays
- Load trays into incubators
- Transfer eggs from incubators to hatchers
- Dump product waste
- Wash all equipment
- Clean and sanitize equipment
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Physical Demands of a Hatchery Operative Job:
- Work is performed in a consistently changing environment – hot and humid to air-conditioned rooms
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors
- Requires the ability to tolerate unpleasant odors associated with eggs and poultry of various quality
- Normal corrective vision range, ability to see color and distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols
- Frequently required to stand and walk
- Requires full range of body motion including handling, lifting, and moving heavy boxes and equipment
- This position may require heavy lifting, up to 50 lbs.
