The island offers a lifestyle envied by many with its warm weather, pristine beaches, wildlife, bushland, water sports, and community lifestyle.

The hotel is a relaxed and family friendly pub, located in Arcadia opposite Alma Bay with views over Geoffrey Bay. The hotel has a variety of settings with a capacity of 200+ customers. There are 2 function areas: an indoor air-conditioned function area and an outdoor marquee area. This position would require you to relocate to the island & secure your own accommodation. Short-term accommodation assistance may be made available to the right applicant & Townsville residents willing to travel are encouraged to apply

The role is multi-faceted. You would be working in a variety of roles with the capacity to work in a team environment while leading from the front. • High School Diploma to Bachelor’s in Public Relations, Hotel Management, Hospitality, or any Marketing field.
• At least one year of experience in the related field.
• An active and fast-paced individual.
• Having aesthetic qualities
• Management and Customer Service Abilities

• A flexible attitude to work any roster including weekends and public holidays
• Business and operational acumen across retail, bar, food and gaming departments

Job Duties of an Events/ Hotel Functions Coordinator

• You will assist the management and efficient running of the day-to-day operations of Hotel facilities
• You will assist with general office administration, including Hotel IT, record keeping, processing of daily balancing & banking along with assisting monthly stocktakes
• You will ensure policies, procedures, and standards are current, effective, and communicated clearly
• Implement your creative planning skills to generate and manage exciting plans for the hotel and private functions, from ideal lead in planning/booking to successful delivery
• Assisting all areas to provide excellent customer service in the absence of other management
• Your creative ability can also optimize social media & social club membership
• Oversee food & beverage service to ensure consistent customer service is maintained
• You will have planning skills to identify & plan events & functions that require detailed planning & communication through to the delivery of the event or function thinking out of the box when required
